Manufactured from durable aluminium with an attractive wood effect finish, this extra-wide floor transition strip combines the strength of a metal threshold with a warm finish that complements wood, laminate, vinyl, LVT and tiled flooring.

The profile features a slightly curved, low-profile shape designed to bridge the joint between two adjoining floor coverings and provide a smooth transition underfoot.

With its generous 80mm width, it is particularly useful for covering wide expansion gaps, flooring joints and doorway transitions where a standard narrow threshold may not provide enough coverage.

Supplied in a 1 metre / 1000mm length, the profile can easily be cut down to suit your doorway.

Extra-Wide 80mm Floor Transition Strip

At 80mm wide, the A71 provides considerably more coverage than a standard narrow door bar.

The additional width makes it particularly suitable for:

Suitable for Same or Slightly Different Floor Heights

The A71 is designed for adjoining floors that are either at the same level or have a small difference in height.

The curved profile can accommodate approximately up to 3mm difference between adjoining floor surfaces.

This makes it ideal where two floor coverings do not finish completely level but the difference is too small to require a larger ramp or adjustable threshold.

For greater differences in floor height, we recommend using a dedicated ramp or adjustable door threshold.

Self Adhesive – No Drilling Required

The A71 features pre-applied adhesive strips on the underside, allowing the threshold to be installed without drilling into the floor.

There are no visible screws, plugs or fixing holes, helping create a clean and professional finished appearance.

Simply measure, cut, peel away the protective backing and press the profile firmly into position.

Installation Instructions

1. Measure the doorway and cut the aluminium threshold to the required length using a fine-tooth hacksaw or suitable metal-cutting tool.
2. Make sure both flooring surfaces are clean, dry, smooth and free from dust, grease or cleaning residues.
3. Remove the protective backing from the adhesive strips underneath the threshold.
4. Centre the profile over the flooring joint or expansion gap.
5. Check the position carefully before allowing the adhesive to make full contact.
6. Press the threshold firmly and evenly along its complete length to create a secure bond.

Installation Tip

For the strongest adhesion, install only onto a clean, dry and stable flooring surface.

Very rough, textured, porous or uneven floors may reduce the effectiveness of the factory-applied adhesive. Where necessary, an additional suitable adhesive may be required.

Although the A71 has the appearance of a traditional wood-style threshold, the profile itself is manufactured from strong aluminium.

This provides the durability and stability of a metal threshold while the wood effect finish offers a warmer appearance that works particularly well with:
